Drugs Effects on Neuroblastoma Cells

This topic explores the effects of different drugs on neuroblastoma cells. The experimental setting includes the use of neuroblastoma cells to study the effects of specific drugs and their concentrations over time

 Overview & Preview

Recommended Level:  High School (11 – 12th grades)

Duration:  4 Hours

This topic explores the effects of different drugs on neuroblastoma cells. In this experiment different replicates of neuroblastoma cells have been treated with drugs that have been either use to treat neuroblastoma or that are commonly use in neuronal differentiation protocols in the lab. This course is contextualized around the potential treatment for an individual. The students are prompted to look at different phenotypes such as cell division, apoptosis, cell migration and cell differentiation.

The slides include all treatments performed and the logic for using them. The raw data includes each image taken by our microscopes over the course of three days. The processed includes speeded up videos representing the compiled images for each condition. The processed data was background-substracted.
